Abstract

This research aims to study Special Retirement for high-risk professions, which is the social security benefit granted to workers who perform their work activities exposed to harmful agents that may cause damage to their health and physical integrity over time. Thus, after presenting the topic, the following research problem arose: What is the risk level of the profession and how much service and contribution time are necessary for a possible granting of special retirement? The choice of this topic is justified by the need to study and explain the precariousness of the granting of social security benefits, especially special retirement for high-risk professions, analyzing labor and social security law. Therefore, this research work has the general objective of analyzing the rules for granting special retirement for high-risk professions and the specific objectives of: defining Special Retirement; specifying high-risk professions; and describing the labor and social security requirements for granting special retirement for high-risk professions. The research is bibliographic in nature, based on existing materials. Therefore, based on the discussion presented throughout the research, it is believed that it was possible to answer the questions raised during the study regarding the changes over the years concerning special retirement for high-risk professions.
