Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive and irreversible condition characterized by the gradual loss of kidney function, representing a major public health problem due to its high prevalence and negative impact on patients’ quality of life. Primarily associated with diabetes mellitus and systemic arterial hypertension, it constitutes a significant clinical and social challenge (Brazilian Society of Nephrology, 2022; World Health Organization, 2022). This study aimed to analyze scientific evidence published between 2015 and 2025 regarding integrated strategies for the prevention and control of CKD, considering clinical, educational, and intersectoral approaches. It is an integrative literature review carried out in the SciELO, LILACS, BDENF, and Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases, using the descriptors Chronic Kidney Disease, Prevention, Control, and Primary Health Care, combined with the Boolean operators AND and OR. Articles written in Portuguese, published between 2015 and 2025, with full-text availability and direct relevance to the topic, were included. After screening and applying eligibility criteria, ten studies composed the final sample. The results indicated that the most effective strategies involve multidisciplinary actions and integrated public policies, focusing on health education, early screening, and continuous clinical follow-up. It is concluded that addressing CKD requires coordinated and interdisciplinary actions, strengthening primary health care and valuing the social determinants of health, thus promoting comprehensive, humane, and equitable care.
