Abstract

The study aimed to analyze current scientific evidence on the mental well-being of students in healthrelated fields, identifying risk factors, academic impacts, and coping strategies described in the literature. This integrative review was conducted using the BVS, PubMed, LILACS, BDENF, and SciELO databases, with descriptors related to mental health, stress, anxiety, and health-area students. Ten articles that met the inclusion criteria were selected and examined through a descriptive-analytical approach. The results revealed a high prevalence of psychological distress among students, associated with academic overload, professional insecurity, and limited institutional support. The persistence of stigma surrounding mental disorders was also observed, hindering the search for specialized help. It is concluded that strengthening institutional policies focused on support, mental health promotion, and the prevention of emotional distress is essential to ensure a more humanized and balanced training process for these future professionals.
